Eastman Kodak, the company that invented the Handheld Camera has applied for bankruptcy protection.

Kodak has already released a statement informing customers that its business will continue as usual for customers.

The company has recently moved away from producing consumer cameras and has moved on to making printers in an effort to reduce its falling profits.

The 132 year old company has struggled to keep up with todays modern market as other manufacturers switched to the digital camera earlier and kodak struggled to adapt.

Kodak has also said it had already arranged a $950m (approx £615m) credit facility from Citigroup.
